Hello, I am Michelle Harmon. I am a Senior Graphic Designer and a SCAD student pursuing my MFA in Graphic Design and Visual Experience.

I was introduced to graphic design while studying advertising and marketing at UT Arlington. During the course of my studies, I discovered that the creative atmosphere of graphic design was the aspect of marketing to which I was best suited. I love the challenge of helping a business succeed by exercising my artistic creativity and collaborating with a team. 

At Apex Capital, I have played a key part in fostering growth within the marketing department. I have had many exciting opportunities to exercise my passion for design: creating and maintaining a brand identity for Apex and all of its subsidiaries, leading the initiative to create and publish videos in-house, and assisting with website landing pages. As the Senior Graphic Designer, I mentor members of the team on foundational graphic design practices and provide constructive feedback on their work.

This experience has reinforced a long-considered thought that I might someday teach graphic design at the university level. I believe my passion for design, my drive to continue learning, my patience and empathy, and my attention to detail would make me an effective educator. However, I hope to continue my career as a graphic designer for many years in order to expand my knowledge of the craft before taking on the role of an educator. I constantly seek opportunities to grow in my field, which has led me to pursue my MFA in graphic design and visual experience at the Savannah College of Art and Design.

During my time at Apex and my studies at SCAD, I will continue to approach each task with fervor, commitment, and determination. I am a constant learner and I strive to better myself as a designer. My role as a designer and mentor is to prioritize thoughtful, well-researched, and user-centered work that positively contributes to the creative field.
